Betty started out singing in church as a little girl.  All through school she continued to sing.  She attended CMU where she was the student director and president of the Carnegie Mellon University Fine Arts Choir, as well as Sigma Alpha Lota's National Honorary for Women.  She has held numerous teaching positions including elementary, high school and collegiate level.  She continues to teach piano and vocal instruction at the Sarah Heinz House in Pittsburgh PA.
